THE
FALSE PROPHET - PART 3
Dr. Allen M. Barber
September 28, 2007
As we
have shown thus far, both the Antichrist and the False Prophet
are real
people - members of the human race and not systems, governments,
and
nations per sae. However, they do rule over a world government
and a
world system called Mystery Babylon in Revelation 17. The
majority
of Bible scholars agree both beasts of Revelation 13 are
persons.
More importantly, so do the Scriptures. Therefore, we should not
try to
make them a government or a world system. They are what the
Bible says
they are - two end time personages used by Satan to judge the
world. Satan wants once again unrestricted rule of
planet
earth (read Ezekiel 28:13-14). It is my studied opinion that
Satan once
was one of the rulers of the universe and he was given authority
over
planet earth. When he sinned, God stripped him of that
authority. The
Garden of Eden temptation was his attempt to regain control of
the
planet and he could care less about the humans who live on it.
Satan
is an angelic being and has a great host of fallen angels to
rule with
him. He does not need the human race. In fact, he has killed
billions
of them since man was created. Because the Lord Jesus is
now a
human being, something Satan cannot duplicate, he is working
overtime
to use humanity to usher in his kingdom. He will fail of course
because
he is deceived, dumb and stupid. Satan is the fool of all
fools
and believers should not ever fear Him because we have a greater
power
in us than Satan - the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ by the
indwelling Holy Spirit. Everyday, we should tell Satan what a
weak puny
fool he is and to get away from us. Speak the blood of Jesus to him and
watch him cringe and crawl away like the snake he is.
In this article, we will attempt to address the two horns on the
second beast:
Revelation 13:11 KJV
11 And I beheld another beast (allos - another of the same
kind)
coming up out of the earth (ge or Gaia); and he had two horns
like a
lamb, and he [spoke] as a dragon.
Now, we have already proven that this second beast, which is the
False
Prophet, is the Antichrist's PR man - he promotes the Antichrist
to the
world first as a great world leader, then when Satan is cast out
of
heaven at the mid-point of the tribulation and controls both the
Antichrist and the False Prophet, he promotes the Antichrist as
the
sole God of heaven and earth. Both beasts are blasphemers, that
is,
they curse the God of heaven, deny His existence, and take His
place as
the Supreme Potentate of the universe. Amazingly God will allow
this
wickedness for 42 months (Rev. 13:5). Billions of people are
going to
buy the lie that Satan is god. You must understand that while
the world
will see two human personages, it is Satan operating through
them that
they worship. Satan is an angelic being that lost his covering
(anointing) when he fell into sin (Ezek. 28:13). However in an
an attempt to duplicate the incarnation of Jesus he will seek to
possess a human being, that is, to completely control a man.
This does not mean he actually steps inside the body of the
Antichrist but that he controls him via demon possession this is
why he seeks a body or more correctly a soul. Satan completely
controlled Judas, but he did not occupy his physical body. He
controlled him via a power demon for Judas was demon-possessed.
(See my article in the Prophecy
Section entitled, "Does
Satan Inhabit The Body of the Antichrist?" If
you want more proof, read Jude Verse 9 where it is recorded that
Satan
wanted the body of Moses. Why did he want the body of Moses? He
wanted to accelerate his Antichrist program, yet God restrained
him for
it was not the appointed time. I once heard Irvin Baxter say
that
"time" is the restrainer of II Thessalonians 2 and thought that
was
absurd. However, in a secondary way, he is not exactly wrong for
God
has given Satan one last appointed time to attempt his rule of
planet
earth as well as to judge the unbelievers who disdain and hate
the God
of heaven. In our generation, they are beginning to come out of
the
woodpile. (Note: At the last supper when the Lord said one who
partook of the bread and wine with Him would betray Him that
very night, Judas asked, Lord is it I? When Jesus told him, what he
was to do, do it quickly, He was referring to Satan because the
Lord knew Satan controlled Judas).
The interpretation of the two horns is a mystery and many Bible
scholars either have not tried to provide an interpretation
or
have given some basic or benign meaning.
Frankly, I
have not read one commentary that impressed me as a revelation
of the
meaning of the two horns. There is a prophecy website that
has it
all figured out - the two horns are the Church and State
phenomenon of
the United States. If that is the case, then that makes the
United
States the False Prophet by virtue of the two horns residing on
the
second beast. I categorically reject that interpretation. While
I have
no doubt the United States is one of the heads of Mystery
Babylon, I do
not believe a nation fits the Scriptural role for the False
Prophet.
Mystery Babylon is a system of end time government, but it has
real
personages who rule over it - the Antichrist and the False
Prophet being the chief ones.
I admit that I am not 100% sure at this writing what the two
horns are.
However, the answer is in the Scriptures and if we keep praying
and
seeking the answer, God will surely show us. Some prophecy
scholars and
theologians are afraid to admit it when they do not know
something as
that would cast them in a weaken position in terms of their
scholarship. Well, I have a Ph.D and have studied the Bible in
great
detail for 37 years and I do not know all things and when I do
not have
the full revelation of some Bible passages, I will just say so.
There is nothing wrong with admitting one does not have
all the
answers. What is wrong is to pretend one has all the answers and
then
give a false commentary on the Word of God. That is dangerous
ground.
The Lord said in Amos 3:7 that He would do nothing unless
He
revealed His secrets to His servants THE PROPHETS. Since
my
office gift is New Testament prophet, I am confident that I will
be
given the full revelation of the two horns.
Anyway, we do have some light on the two horns. In Revelation
5:6,
Jesus is seen as a Lamb having been slain with seven horns and
seven
eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the
earth.
The Greek definite article is used with the both the seven
eyes
and seven spirits, but not with the seven horns. Granville
Sharp's Rule
of Greek for the definite article mandates that if the definite
article
is before one noun separated by the conjunction "and" (kai in
Greek),
but not before the second noun, then the two nouns are one and
the
same. Therefore, the seven horns, the seven eyes, and the seven
spirits
are one and the same. We know there is only one Holy Spirit not
seven.
Therefore, the number seven in Verse 6 is figurative, that is,
it
represents or is symbolic of something. The number seven as used
in the
Bible is a number of completeness. Therefore, Jesus is the
complete Spirit and image of God. He not only fills the Church,
but the
universe as well. His seven eyes mean that He has perfect vision
and
nothing escapes his attention - no one can hide a thing from the
Lord:
Psalms 66:7 KJV
7 He ruleth by his power for ever; his
eyes
behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves.
Selah.
Proverbs 5:21 KJV
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes
of the
LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.
Proverbs 15:3 KJV
3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil
and the
good.
A horn in Scripture means power and authority. Therefore, in
Revelation 5:6, it is used to mean that Jesus is the full power
of the
Godhead. Before His ascension, Jesus told the disciples that He
had
been given all power and authority in heaven and earth (Matthew
28:
18-20). King David often commented in the Psalms that the Lord
had
lifted up his horn (David's), meaning David's kingly throne.
David knew
that his power and authority came from the Lord and not himself.
How
great it would be today if world rulers realized their power and
authority to rule comes from God. Sadly, they have given it to
Satan
and he is more than happy to use it to deceive them. Therefore,
the two
horns on the second beast who looks like a lamb (promoter of
peace),
but speaks like a dragon, also is emblematic of power and
authority.
In Daniel 8 the two horns on the Ram symbolize the kings
of an
end time revived Medo-Persian empire (Daniel 8:20). The
He-Goat
with the notable horn between his eyes is the king or ruler of
an end
time Gentile super power. Daniel 8 drives prophecy buffs crazy
because
when they try to make it a past historical fulfillment, the text
says
the vision has to do with the end time. Daniel
8 is an end time conflict between a Persian king and a Gentile
king.
Does that sound anything like the conflict between the
United
States and Iran? Actually Medo-Persia conquered and absorbed
Babylon.
Therefore, Babylon is part of Medo-Persia.
Does this mean the two horns on the second beast are two kings
who give
this beast his power? Yes, I believe it has that connotation.
The thing
about lambs is they do not have horns in the natural sense. Rams
have
horns, but not lambs. Therefore, once again the horns are
figurative
language - they represent something. I believe the Revelation 13
text
gives us a clue to what the two horns are. First it says the
second
beast speaks like a dragon. The word dragon is mentioned 15
times in
the Revelation and each time it is used of Satan, for example:
Revelation 12:8-9 NKJV
9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent
of old,
called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole
world; he was
cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
How does the Dragon speak? Well, we know from the Garden of
Eden
that when he speaks, he lies about what God has said - he twists
the
truth and makes God out to be the liar instead of him. He told
Adam and
Eve that God lied and if they partook of the Tree of the
Knowledge of
Good and Evil, which was Satanic knowledge (The Tree of Life
represents
the Lord Jesus while the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil
represents Satan), they would not die but become gods. Well, we
know
they died and they did not become gods. Jesus said that Satan
was a
liar and a murderer from the beginning (from the standpoint of
his sin
for he was not evil when created). Revelation 12 and 13
says the
Dragon, Satan, is a deceiver, an accuser of the saints, and a
blasphemer - he curses God and assumes to take His place as the
Supreme
Deity. This is the greatest abomination when Satan claims to be
God.
In Revelation 12:4, it says that Satan gives power to the first
beast -
the horn or power of the Antichrist is not his, but comes from
Satan
and with this Satanic power he rules for 42 months. Now, when we
see
this second beast in Revelation 13: 12, he is exercising all the
power
of the first beast. He has power to call fire down from heaven,
create
an image of the first beast and appear to make the image talk,
and
force a Mark upon all who follow the first beast. It is the
second
beast that has power over commerce - buying and selling.
It
seems the second beast has even more power than the first beast.
However, everything the second beast does is to promote the
first beast
who wages great war on the planet. Read Daniel 11 and understand
the
Antichrist is going to be a military person like Hitler. Hitler
was not
a military man, but he controlled the German armies. The
Antichrist will control the New World Order Armies.
If a horn means power and authority as we have seen, then the
two horns
of the second beast stand for all the power of the Dragon and
the first
beast combined, that is, the
False Prophet has a double - portion anointing of Satanic
power upon
his life
and
that is
why he is able to deceive the world and force the people to
worship the
Antichrist as God as well as perform great miracles. The
Lord
Jesus has seven horns upon Him, which stands for the full power
of the
Godhead in heaven. Likewise, the lamb with two horns has
all the
power and authority of the Dragon and the first beast. He
is a double-anointed power!
Remember the situation with Elijah and Elisha, when Elijah was
caught-up to heaven, Elisha asked for a double portion of
Elijah's
spirit or anointing. The seven spirits of the Lord Jesus also
stands
for the full measure of the Holy Spirit upon His life. The seven
horns
and seven spirits are one and the same in Revelation 5:6. In
like manner, the two horns represents the diabolical spirit of
Satan
poured out upon the Antichrist and the False Prophet.
If the two horns of the lamb in Revelation 13:11 are the
Political and
Religious systems of the United States (Church and State), then
when
the Lord returns, He will have to cast the United States and the
two
systems of Church and State into the Lake of Fire. How absurd
can you
get! Only persons are thrown into the Lake of Fire, not
systems
and nations.
The False Prophet will be more involved with the political
and
economic policies of the Antichrist than the Harlot religious
system.
The Harlot religious system is an amalgamation of world
religion
united into one wicked false apostate Church. I believe
three
religions will be prominent in developing the Harlot Church
- apostate Judaism, apostate Christianity, and Islam.
They may all unite under the 111th Pope - the one
who
succeeds the present Pope who is the 110th Pope.
Well, this may not satisfy some who are "wanting" the False
Prophet to
be the United States or some other entity, but I believe it has
merit
from the Scriptures. I look for a human personage with great
oratorical
skills and intelligence (that leaves out George W. Bush) to
begin to
appear on the world scene promoting a man as the new world
leader. He
will be the False Prophet. The Jews are looking for Elijah to
precede
Messiah and the Muslims are looking for the 12th
Imam. Apostate
Christianity doesn't know for sure who they are looking for. The
current Pope told the leading Rabbis of Israel that they are
right in
believing that Jesus was not the Messiah in His first advent. He
is as
deceived as the Rabbis and he is supposed to be the leader of
the
Christian world - give me a break, the man has no clue to
genuine
Christianity. His ecclesiastical robes do not make him a super
Christian!
The Lord Bless you.
