ONLINE BIBLE STUDY
BOOK OF HEBREWS

A TEACHING OUTLINE
The following is the outline for our Bible study in the book of Hebrews. Hebrews is perhaps the least studied book in the Church today, but one of the most important in understanding the relationship and differences of the two Covenants and the Church and Israel. Christian Zionists in particular need to read and study the book of Hebrews so as not to be confused with the secular nation of Israel in the prophetic plan of God as well as who are the chosen people today. Too many unlearned believers who do not understand the progressive nature of biblical revelation see two separate covenants – one for Israel and one for the Church. In so doing, they have developed a “double-mindedness” not taught by the Scriptures. In addition, they have an “Old Testament mentality” and in many ways, have either tried to Judaize Christianity or made Judaism even superior to Christianity. Countless numbers of Christians have migrated to “Torah Congregations” (Christians Jews who stress the Law or who mix Law with Grace) thinking they are “perfected Christians” by adding the Law to their faith. The books of Hebrews and Galatians debunk that false theology.
Ann Coulter, in an interview with MSNBC’s Donny Deutsch (a Jew), accused her of insulting Judaism when she said Jews are perfected Christians. Admittedly, Ann’s witness to the left-wing talk show host was anemic and she incorrectly said “that Christians are perfected Jews.” The New Covenant does not teach any such theology. Christians are new creations in Christ Jesus and one part of the “One New Man.” Both Jews and Gentiles lose their ethnic identity when they accept Christ. Paul said that after he became a Christian, he recognized no man in the flesh, meaning, he was no longer hung-up with his ethnicity as a former Jew and a Judaizer. One of the stumblingblocks to Jews for accepting Christ is they are afraid they will lose their ethnicity as a Jew. Again, the apostle Paul said that in Christ there is no longer Jew or Gentile, but a new man (Eph. 2:15-16; Gal. 3:28). It is time Christians stop trying to become completed Jews and become the One New Man the New Covenant stresses. For those who will complete this study of Hebrews, you will never again attempt to mix Judaism, Torah worship and Christianity. Christianity is far superior to Judaism and Torah worship.
