Inexperienced and Weak Leaders  - the Judgment of God
Dr. Allen M. Barber

Isaiah 3:1-5, 12 NKJV

1 For behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts,
 Takes away from Jerusalem and from Judah
 The stock and the store,
 The whole supply of bread and the whole supply of water;
2 The mighty man and the man of war,
 The judge and the prophet,
 And the diviner and the elder;
3 The captain of fifty and the honorable man,
 The counselor and the skillful artisan,
 And the expert enchanter.
4 "I will give children to be their princes,
 And babes shall rule over them.
5 The people will be oppressed, Every one by another and every one by his neighbor;
 The child will be insolent toward the elder,
 And the base toward the honorable."

12 As for My people, children are their oppressors,
And women rule over them.
 O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err,
 And destroy the way of your paths."

Note: I wrote this in February 2008, but it is interesting reading considering how things have turned out. Barack Obama is without doubt an inexperienced weak leader whose far left policies and Marxist ideology is hurting and oppressing the American people just as the Word of God says in Isaiah 3:5. Is Obama an instrument for the judgment of God upon our nation? Yes, but the vast majority of Americans including Christians do not understand the judgment of God. Many Christians think the judgment of God is reserved for the "big one" as former Congressman and candidate for governor of Ohio, John Kasich, once said in an interview with the Governor of Alabama who believed Katrina was the judgment of God. Kasich put the governor down, even mocked the idea of God using a hurricane to judge this nation. Kasich believes God does not judge people or nations until the Great White Throne Judgment after the millennium. He is wrong because he does not have the biblical worldview.  Since the beginning of time, God has judged nations for gross wickedness and for turning their backs against Him. Many nations of biblical days no longer remain because of the judgment of God. Have you seen any Hittites or Jebusites  lately? How about ancient Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome - once great nations that no longer exist. What about the four cities of Mesopotamia whom God destroyed for homosexuality - Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboiim?  How about Israel and Judah; God destroyed both of them and for 2500 years they did not exist as a people with a national identity and even the one that now exist in the Middle East is not legitimate according to the Torah and the teaching of leading Rabbi's.  It is foolish to think God does not or cannot judge nations during the time of their existence on earth.  There will be no nations in hell, only leaders and people of nations. Therefore, it stands to reason that God does judge some nations during their existence.

When the people of Israel demanded a King because they did not want God to rule over them (since they could not see Him or speak to Him in visible form, they wanted a king like the Gentile nations), God gave them Saul who turned out to be wicked,  perverted and demon possessed (got into witchcraft). The people in 2008 yelled, screamed, swooned, and cheered - "Give us Barack Obama and he will lead us to the promise land." Well, he is leading us okay, but it is not to the promise land. America is coming apart at the seams because of a young inexperienced Marxist (Socialism is just another name for Marxism) who determined even before becoming president that he was going to change America fundamentally and he is doing that very thing. I make no apology in saying that Barack Obama is God's instrument of judgment. Why? Because our leaders and a great number of the people have forsaken the true God - the Lord Jesus Christ.

The article as written in 2008:

[Isaiah 3 concerns God's Judgment upon the House of Judah and the city of Jerusalem. Verses 1-3 speak of famine instead of prosperity. During the reigns of David and Solomon, the united kingdom enjoyed great prosperity and were the envy of all nations at that time. But the more God blessed Israel, the more they sinned and filled the land with idols. Then after Solomon died, the Kingdom was divided into the Northern kingdom with its capital in Samaria and the Southern kingdom with Jerusalem as its capital. As a consequence, God began sending the nations prophets warning of certain judgment if they did not  repent. Unfortunately, they paid no attention to the prophets so God sent His judgment. First to the Northern kingdom in Samaria in 721 B.C. when Assyria took them captive into their land. These were the 10 tribes (called the lost ten tribes) that eventually merged with the Central Asian and European nations. As a result there is no pure Israeli blood among these ten tribes. They were completely absorbed by the Gentiles.

After Judah saw what God did to the Northern kingdom, instead of repenting they continued to sin and disobey God. In one passage, God says Judah was more wicked than her sister Samaria."  Isaiah 3 is a warning of judgment upon the House of Judah. God said He was going to remove their prosperity and give them weak and experienced leaders - "children shall be their princes and babes shall rule over them." The Hebrew meaning of "babes" means to throw a fit, which is what an immature infant does who wants his way in everything. Likewise, the meaning of "children" implies an immature adolescence. The idea in both words is someone who is immature and lacking the skills and experience to lead. Verse 5 is the result of weak and immature leaders - the people were oppressed.

A third judgment is seen in Verse 5 - "The child will be insolent toward the elder and the base toward the honorable."  The KJV says, "Shall behave himself proudly." The literal Hebrew means to show disrespect toward the aged or elderly. The same meaning is implied in the "base toward the honorable." The literal Hebrew meaning of base is "a lightweight." The young and  inexperienced shall have no respect for the aged and wise.

The fourth judgment is something few can handle today as God says He will give them women to rule over them and the young and inexperienced shall oppress them. This is not an indictment against  women in general, but God's will for leadership whether the nation, the Church or the family is male leadership and there is a reason for that that few understand, which would take another article. Sorry ladies, but if this upsets you, talk to God about it as He said it not me.

Now let us fast forward to February 2008 and apply these verses to our time. What is the current political scene and temperament? In the Democratic fold we have the young and inexperienced Barack Obama who has not served one complete term as a U.S. Senator, yet he believes he is qualified to be president. He is banking on his superb oratorical skills and Charismatic personality to sway the people and he is doing just that. In addition, he has said Hillary is too old to be president. Well, if Hillary is too old, then John McCain at 72 would be disqualified. Moreover, the clever media is selling the American people on the fact that youth is the "in thing" and age is out!  I've noticed that all the major networks including Fox continually scan the audience wherever Obama and McCain speak drawing a contrast between the youthful Obama audience and the aged McCain audience. The networks are doing their part in condemning the wisdom of the aged.

In addition, I have listened carefully to the youthful Obama supporters whose major theme is "Change," and few have any solutions for how Mr. Obama will handle the domestic and foreign policy problems of this nation. When one Fox News reporter attempted to pin them down to what exactly they meant by "change" their response was Bush and the Republicans need to go, but they offered no substantive alternative.  This is characteristic of inexperience youth - emotions without any reasonable substance. I'm afraid that many who will vote for Obama will do so for two primary reasons - they want somebody different in the White House and the majority of blacks are going to vote race even though they deny it.

Then there is Hillary who has been running for president even before she was elected to the U.S. Senate. In fact, her Senate tenure has been more about her bid for the presidency than serving the people of New York. She is not a true New Yorker, but had to establish residence there to be elected Senator. She choose New York because it is a strong democratic state and the best place to launch her secret campaign to become president. From day one as the U.S. Senator from New York, she setup a presidential campaign fund and began taking donations to her eventual epiphany as a candidate for president. Hillary is laden with deception which she hides behind her personality and rhetoric. She is a staunch liberal but to get elected as the democratic nominee, she suddenly appeared as a moderate. Nothing could be farther from the truth - Hillary is and has always been a Marxist liberal and if she is elected president, her true colors will surface just as George W. Bush did in proving he was not a true conservative.  Furthermore, Hillary did not count on a strong Obama candidacy. He is a thorn in her and old Bill's side.

With a Hillary presidency, the traditional American presidency and culture goes out the window. For the first time in the history of our nation, we will have a "first man" instead of a "first lady" and to think it could be old Bill, is disgusting to say the least.
There is a growing movement in this nation to discredit the wisdom of the aged and replace it with the emotional whims of inexperienced youth. The same thing has been occurring in the Church for many years. The Church seeks youthful inexperienced pastors as their leaders and they get what they ask for.

When God chose someone to lead the nation of Israel out of Egyptian bondage, he chose Moses who was 80 years of age. He led Israel for forty years until he was 120 years old. Then God chose Joshua who also was not a young man, but was between 80-85 years of age. There is a wisdom that comes only by having lived and experienced life's valleys. Aged wisdom is not something we as a nation should disdain, but honor.

God said He gave Judah weak and inexperienced leaders to rule over them as His judgment. While Obama is obviously a likeable person, he is as green as a head of lettuce when it comes to having the necessary experience and skills to lead this nation in its present troubles - the global war on terrorism; ending the war in Iraq with dignity and respect for the thousands who have died and been wounded serving in that conflict; the declining dollar; rising energy prices; huge national debt and deficits; taxes; the threat from Russia and China; the Middle East crisis, etc. The youthful Obama is going to walk into a buzz saw from the first day of his administration and his inexperience will began to show by the decisions he makes. This is of course if he is elected president. [Unfortunately he was].

Hillary may have a little more experience, but her liberal policies like Obama's will mean higher everything - higher taxes, higher energy bills, high medical costs, which every American will be forced to have government sponsored health insurance, weaker military, certainty of amnesty for Illegal aliens and bringing the United States into the North American Community Union and lost of our sovereignty just to name a few. Hillary is not a Constitutionalist and neither is hubby Bill. They are both Socialists and will move this nation further into Marxist - Socialism. The U.S. is already a fascist nation and soon to become a socio-fascist state.]

May God give us all a heart and mind of wisdom in choosing our leaders.
